सुकन्या नाम शार्याती भार्गवं चयचनं वने वल्मीक भूतं शाम्यन्तम अन्वपद्यत भामिनी ॥ ४-२०-७ ॥
'In ancient times, Sukanya, the beautiful daughter of Sarjati, followed into the forest Chyavana of the Bhrigu lineage—a sage whose mind was perfectly controlled, and over whom, during his deep meditation.' ॥ 4-20-7 ॥
english translation
sukanyA nAma zAryAtI bhArgavaM cayacanaM vane valmIka bhUtaM zAmyantama anvapadyata bhAminI ॥ 4-20-7 ॥
