यां न मृष्यन्ति वातेन सपृश्यमानां पुरा गृहे सपृश्यमानां सहन्ते ऽदय पाण्डवास तां दुरात्मना ॥ २-६२-६ ॥
'Alas, she whom the sons of Pandu once protected so carefully, not allowing even the wind to touch her, is today abandoned by them, left to be seized and dragged by this wretch.' ॥ 2-62-6 ॥
english translation
मृष्यन्ते कुरवश चेमे मन्ये कालस्य पर्ययम सनुषां दुहितरं चैव कलिश्यमानाम अनर्हतीम ॥ २-६२-७ ॥
'Alas, these Kauravas, who should know better, allow their daughter-in-law—so undeserving of such treatment—to be afflicted in their presence. It seems that the times are indeed out of joint.' ॥ 2-62-7 ॥
english translation
किं तव अतः कृपणं भूयॊ यद अहं सत्री सती शुभा सभामध्यं विगाहे ऽदय कव नु धर्मॊ महीक्षिताम ॥ २-६२-८ ॥
'What can be more distressing to me, than that though high-born and chaste, I should yet be compelled to enter this public court? Where is that virtue for which these kings were noted?' ॥ 2-62-8 ॥
english translation
धर्म्याः सत्रियः सभां पूर्वं न नयन्तीति नः शरुतम स नष्टः कौरवेयेषु पूर्वॊ धर्मः सनातनः ॥ २-६२-९ ॥
'It is said that in ancient times, kings never brought their wedded wives into the public court. Alas, this time-honored tradition has vanished among the Kauravas.' ॥ 2-62-9 ॥

कथं हि भार्या पाण्डूनां पार्षतस्य सवसा सती वासुदेवस्य च सखी पार्थिवानां सभाम इयाम ॥ २-६२-१० ॥
'How is it that the chaste wife of the Pandavas, the sister of Prishata's son, and the friend of Vasudeva is brought before this assembly?' ॥ 2-62-10 ॥
