[दरौ] पुरस्तात करणीयं मे न कृतं कार्यम उत्तरम विह्वलास्मि कृतानेन कर्षता बलिना बलात ॥ २-६२-१ ॥

'Draupadi said, "Wait a moment, you vile man, wicked-hearted Dussasana. There is an important duty I have yet to fulfill. Dragged forcibly by the strong arms of this wretch, I was rendered senseless."' ॥ 2-62-1 ॥

english translation

[darau] purastAta karaNIyaM me na kRtaM kAryama uttarama vihvalAsmi kRtAnena karSatA balinA balAta ॥ 2-62-1 ॥

अभिवादं करॊम्य एषां गुरूणां कुरुसंसदि न मे सयाद अपराधॊ ऽयं यद इदं न कृतं मया ॥ २-६२-२ ॥

'I offer my respects to these revered elders in this assembly of the Kurus. It is not my fault that I could not do so earlier.' ॥ 2-62-2 ॥

english translation

abhivAdaM karòmya eSAM gurUNAM kurusaMsadi na me sayAda aparAdhò 'yaM yada idaM na kRtaM mayA ॥ 2-62-2 ॥

[वै] सा तेन च समुद्धूता दुःखेन च तपस्विनी पतिता विललापेदं सभायाम अतथॊचिता ॥ २-६२-३ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, "Dragged with greater force than before, the afflicted and helpless Draupadi, undeserving of such treatment, falling upon the ground, thus wept in that assembly of the Kurus;"' ॥ 2-62-3 ॥

[vai] sA tena ca samuddhUtA duHkhena ca tapasvinI patitA vilalApedaM sabhAyAma atathòcitA ॥ 2-62-3 ॥

[दरौ] सवयंवरे यास्मि नृपैर दृष्टा रङ्गे समागतैः न दृष्टपूर्वा चान्यत्र साहम अद्य सभां गता ॥ २-६२-४ ॥

'Alas, only once before, at my Swayamvara, was I seen by the assembled kings in the amphitheatre. Never again was I seen in public. Yet today, I am brought before this assembly.' ॥ 2-62-4 ॥

[darau] savayaMvare yAsmi nRpaira dRSTA raGge samAgataiH na dRSTapUrvA cAnyatra sAhama adya sabhAM gatA ॥ 2-62-4 ॥

यां न वायुर न चादित्यॊ दृष्टवन्तौ पुरा गृहे साहम अद्य सभामध्ये दृश्यामि कुरुसंसदि ॥ २-६२-५ ॥

'She whom neither the wind nor the sun Had ever seen before in her home, I now see her in the assembly, Amidst the gathering of the Kurus.' ॥ 2-62-5 ॥

yAM na vAyura na cAdityò dRSTavantau purA gRhe sAhama adya sabhAmadhye dRzyAmi kurusaMsadi ॥ 2-62-5 ॥
