धर्मे सथितॊ धर्मसुतश च राजा; धर्मश च सूक्ष्मॊ निपुणॊपलभ्यः वाचापि भर्तुः परमाणु मात्रं; नेच्छसि दॊषं सवगुणान विषृज्य ।। २-६०-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'The illustrious son of Dharma is now bound by the obligations of righteousness, which is indeed subtle and can be understood only by those with great discernment. Even in speech, I am unwilling to acknowledge any fault in my lord, lest it diminish his virtues.' ।। 2-60-31 ।।

english translation

dharme sathitò dharmasutaza ca rAjA; dharmaza ca sUkSmò nipuNòpalabhyaH vAcApi bhartuH paramANu mAtraM; necchasi dòSaM savaguNAna viSRjya || 2-60-31 ||

इदं तव अनार्यं कुरुवीरमध्ये; रजस्वलां यत परिकर्षसे माम न चापि कश चित कुरुते ऽतर पूजां; धरुवं तवेदं मतम अन्वपद्यन ।। २-६०-३२ ।।

'You drag me, while I am menstruating, before these Kuru heroes. This is indeed an unworthy act. Yet no one here rebukes you. All here must share your mindset.' ।। 2-60-32 ।।

english translation

idaM tava anAryaM kuruvIramadhye; rajasvalAM yata parikarSase mAma na cApi kaza cita kurute 'tara pUjAM; dharuvaM tavedaM matama anvapadyana || 2-60-32 ||

'Alas! The virtue of the Bharatas has truly vanished! Likewise, the principles of those well-versed in Kshatriya practice have disappeared. Otherwise, these Kurus in the assembly would never silently witness such an act that violates their traditions.' ।। 2-60-33 ।।

dhiga astu naSTaH khalu bhAratAnAM; dharmasa tathA kaSatravidAM ca vRttama yatrAbhyatItAM kuru dharmavelAM; parekSanti sarve kuravaH sabhAyAma || 2-60-33 ||

'Oh, both Drona and Bhishma, along with the noble Kshatta and the king, seem to have lost their strength. How else could these esteemed Kuru elders passively observe such a grave injustice?' ।। 2-60-34 ।।

daròNasya bhISmasya ca nAsti sattvaM; dharuvaM tathaivAsya mahAtmanò 'pi rAjJasa tathA hImama adharmama ugraM; na lakSayante kuruvRddha mukhyAH || 2-60-34 ||

'Vaisampayana continued: 'Thus did Krishna, with her slender waist, cry out in distress in that assembly. Casting a glance at her enraged husbands, the Pandavas, who were seething with fury, she further ignited their wrath with that very glance.'' ।। 2-60-35 ।।
