'Duryodhana said, "Come, Kshatta, bring Draupadi here, the dear and beloved wife of the Pandavas. Let her sweep the chambers and force her to stay among our serving women."' ।। 2-59-1 ।।
[व] दुर्विभाव्यं भवति तवादृशेन; न मन्दसंबुध्यसि पाशबद्धः परपाते तवं लम्बमानॊ न वेत्सि; वयाघ्रान मृगः कॊपयसे ऽतिबाल्यात ।। २-५९-२ ।।
'Vidura said, "Do you not realize, O wretch, that by uttering such harsh words you are binding yourself with cords? Do you not understand that you are hanging on the edge of a precipice? Do you not know that, as a deer, you are provoking many tigers to rage?"' ।। 2-59-2 ।।
आशीविषाः शिरसि ते पूर्णकॊशा महाविषाः मा कॊपिष्ठाः सुमन्दात्मन मा गमस तवं यमक्षयम ।। २-५९-३ ।।
'Snakes of deadly venom, provoked to anger, are upon your head! Wretch, do not further enrage them, or you will find yourself in the realm of Yama.' ।। 2-59-3 ।।
न हि दासीत्वम आपन्ना कृष्णा भवति भारत अनीशेन हि राज्ञैषा पणे नयस्तेति मे मतिः ।। २-५९-४ ।।
'In my judgment, Krishna cannot be reduced to slavery, for she was staked by the king after he had lost control of himself and ceased to be his own master.' ।। 2-59-4 ।।
अयं धत्ते वेणुर इवात्मघाती; फलं राजा धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रः दयूतं हि वैराय महाभयाय; पक्वॊ न बुध्यत्य अयम अन्तकाले ।। २-५९-५ ।।
'Like the bamboo that bears fruit only when it is near death, the son of Dhritarashtra wins this treasure in the game. Intoxicated, he fails to perceive, in these final moments, that dice bring enmity and fearful terrors.' ।। 2-59-5 ।।
