'After this, O king, if thou wishest to hear words that are agreeable to thee, in respect of all acts good or bad, ask thou women and idiots and cripples or persons of that description.' ।। 2-57-16 ।।
'In this world, one may find a sinful person who speaks pleasing words, but a person who speaks unpleasant yet wise counsel, or one who listens to such counsel, is indeed rare.' ।। 2-57-17 ।।
यस तु धर्मे पराश्वस्य हित्वा भर्तुः परियाप्रिये अप्रियाण्य आह पथ्यानि तेन राजा सहायवान ।। २-५७-१८ ।।
'Indeed, a true ally of the king is one who, disregarding what is pleasing or unpleasing to his master, upholds virtue and speaks truths that may be disagreeable but are essential for proper guidance.' ।। 2-57-18 ।।
'O great king, consume that which the honest embrace and the dishonest avoid—humility. It is like a medicine: bitter, pungent, burning, and disagreeable. By drinking it, regain your clarity and composure.' ।। 2-57-19 ।।
'I continually wish for prosperity and fame for Dhritarashtra and his sons. Whatever may come to pass, I bow to you and take my leave. May the Brahmanas grant me their blessings.' ।। 2-57-20 ।।
