'The great Rishis, endowed with divine qualities, approached Yudhishthira, the generous and revered one. They chanted mantras as they performed their rites, akin to the seven Rishis venerating the exalted heaven of India.' ।। 2-49-12 ।।
अधारयच छत्रम अस्य सात्यकिः सत्यविक्रमः धनंजयश च वयजने भीमसेनश च पाण्डवः ।। २-४९-१३ ।।
'Satyaki, renowned for his unmatched valor, held the umbrella over the king's head. Dhananjaya (Arjuna) and Bhima were busy fanning the king, while the twins held a pair of chamaras (fly whisks) in their hands.' ।। 2-49-13 ।।
'In ancient times, Yama held this conch for Indra, and Prajapati held it for him (Indra). The ocean in a pot brought this conch, Which belongs to Varuna, for him (Indra).' ।। 2-49-14 ।।
'The Ocean, himself, brought forth Varuna's grand conch shell, crafted by the celestial architect Viswakarman with a thousand Nishkas of gold. In a previous Kalpa, Prajapati had gifted this conch to Indra. With that very conch, Krishna ceremonially bathed Yudhishthira after the sacrifice. Witnessing this, I was overcome with emotion and fainted.' ।। 2-49-15 ।।
