यन नैव मधु शक्राय धारयन्त्य अमर सत्रियः तद अस्मै कांस्यम आहार्षीद वारुणं कलशॊदधिः ॥ २-४५-२६ ॥

'Meanwhile, the Ocean himself delivered to him, in white copper vessels, the nectar from his depths, which is far superior to the nectar produced by flowers and annual plants for Sakra.' ॥ 2-45-26 ॥

english translation

yana naiva madhu zakrAya dhArayantya amara satriyaH tada asmai kAMsyama AhArSIda vAruNaM kalazòdadhiH ॥ 2-45-26 ॥

शैक्यं रुक्मसहस्रस्य बहुरत्नविभूषितम दृष्ट्वा च मम तत सर्वं जवर रूपम इवाभवत ॥ २-४५-२७ ॥

'After the sacrifice, Vasudeva brought a magnificent conch and bathed the Sun of Pritha with sea water transported in a thousand gold jars, all adorned with numerous gems. Witnessing this, I was overwhelmed with jealousy and felt feverish.' ॥ 2-45-27 ॥

zaikyaM rukmasahasrasya bahuratnavibhUSitama dRSTvA ca mama tata sarvaM javara rUpama ivAbhavata ॥ 2-45-27 ॥

गृहीत्वा तत तु गच्छन्ति समुद्रौ पूर्वदक्षिणौ तथैव पश्चिमं यान्ति गृहीत्वा भरतर्षभ ॥ २-४५-२८ ॥

'The jars had been transported to the Eastern and Southern oceans, and were also carried on the shoulders of men to the Western ocean, O foremost among men.' ॥ 2-45-28 ॥

gRhItvA tata tu gacchanti samudrau pUrvadakSiNau tathaiva pazcimaM yAnti gRhItvA bharatarSabha ॥ 2-45-28 ॥

उत्तरं तु न गच्छन्ति विना तात पतत्रिभिः इदं चाद्भुतम अत्रासीत तन मे निगदतः शृणु ॥ २-४५-२९ ॥

'Although only birds can traverse to the Northern region, Arjuna went there and collected an immense amount of wealth as tribute. I will also describe another remarkable incident to you.' ॥ 2-45-29 ॥

uttaraM tu na gacchanti vinA tAta patatribhiH idaM cAdbhutama atrAsIta tana me nigadataH zRNu ॥ 2-45-29 ॥

पूर्णे शतसहस्रे तु विप्राणां परिविष्यताम सथापिता तत्र संज्ञाभूच छङ्खॊ धमायति नित्यशः ॥ २-४५-३० ॥

'Listen to me: When a hundred thousand Brahmins were fed, it was arranged that conches would be blown in a chorus every day to announce this grand event.' ॥ 2-45-30 ॥

pUrNe zatasahasre tu viprANAM pariviSyatAma sathApitA tatra saMjJAbhUca chaGkhò dhamAyati nityazaH ॥ 2-45-30 ॥
