पृथग्विधानि रत्नानि पार्थिवाः पृथिवीपते आहरन करतुमुख्ये ऽसमिन कुन्तीपुत्राय भूरिशः ।। २-४५-२१ ।।

'And, O lord of the earth, the kings brought heaps upon heaps of jewels and gems to this grand sacrifice for Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti.' ।। 2-45-21 ।।

english translation

pRthagvidhAni ratnAni pArthivAH pRthivIpate Aharana karatumukhye 'samina kuntIputrAya bhUrizaH || 2-45-21 ||

न कवचिद धि मया दृष्टस तादृशॊ नैव च शरुतः यादृग धनागमॊ यज्ञे पाण्डुपुत्रस्य धीमतः ।। २-४५-२२ ।।

'Never before have I seen or heard of such an immense accumulation of wealth as was brought to the sacrifice of the wise sons of Pandu.' ।। 2-45-22 ।।

english translation

na kavacida dhi mayA dRSTasa tAdRzò naiva ca zarutaH yAdRga dhanAgamò yajJe pANDuputrasya dhImataH || 2-45-22 ||

अपर्यन्तं धनौघं तं दृष्ट्वा शत्रॊर अहं नृप शर्म नैवाधिगच्छामि चिन्तयानॊ ऽनिशं विभॊ ।। २-४५-२३ ।।

'And, O king, seeing that vast accumulation of wealth belonging to the enemy, I cannot find peace of mind.' ।। 2-45-23 ।।

aparyantaM dhanaughaM taM dRSTvA zatròra ahaM nRpa zarma naivAdhigacchAmi cintayAnò 'nizaM vibhò || 2-45-23 ||

बराह्मणा वाटधानाश च गॊमन्तः शतसंघशः तरैखर्वं बलिम आदाय दवारि तिष्ठन्ति वारिताः ।। २-४५-२४ ।।

'Hundreds of Brahmins, supported by the grants given by Yudhishthira and possessing great wealth of cattle, waited at the palace gate with vast tributes amounting to three thousand million. However, they were prevented from entering the mansion by the gatekeepers.' ।। 2-45-24 ।।

barAhmaNA vATadhAnAza ca gòmantaH zatasaMghazaH taraikharvaM balima AdAya davAri tiSThanti vAritAH || 2-45-24 ||

कमण्डलून उपादाय जातरूपमयाञ शुभान एवं बलिं समादाय परवेशं लेभिरे ततः ।। २-४५-२५ ।।

'Carrying clarified butter in beautiful gold kamandalus, they were unable to gain entry into the palace.' ।। 2-45-25 ।।

kamaNDalUna upAdAya jAtarUpamayAJa zubhAna evaM baliM samAdAya paravezaM lebhire tataH || 2-45-25 ||
