अहं तु तद विजानामि विजेतुं येन शक्यते युधिष्ठिरं सवयं राजंस तन निबॊध जुषस्व च ॥ २-४४-१६ ॥
'But I know that by which Yudhishthira himself can be conquered, O king. Listen to it and approve of it.' ॥ 2-44-16 ॥
english translation
[द] अप्रमादेन सुहृदाम अन्येषां च महात्मनाम यदि शक्या विजेतुं ते तन ममाचक्ष्व मातुल ॥ २-४४-१७ ॥
'Duryodhana said, "O uncle, if there is a way to defeat him without endangering our friends and other esteemed individuals, please tell me."' ॥ 2-44-17 ॥

[ष] दयूतप्रियश च कौन्तेयॊ न च जानाति देवितुम समाहूतश च राजेन्द्रॊ न शक्ष्यति निवर्तितुम ॥ २-४४-१८ ॥
'Sakuni said, "The son of Kunti is very fond of playing dice, though he is not skilled at it. If invited to play, the king will find it difficult to decline."' ॥ 2-44-18 ॥

देवने कुशलश चाहं न मे ऽसति सदृशॊ भुवि तरिषु लॊकेषु कौन्तेयं तं तवं दयूते समाह्वय ॥ २-४४-१९ ॥
'I am skilled in gambling, and there is no one equal to me on earth. In the three worlds, challenge that son of Kunti (Yudhishthira) to a game of dice.' ॥ 2-44-19 ॥

तस्याक्षकुशलॊ राजन्न आदास्ये ऽहम असंशयम राज्यं शरियं च तां दीप्तां तवदर्थं पुरुषर्षभ ॥ २-४४-२० ॥
'Skilled at dice, I will win his kingdom and his splendid prosperity for you, O bull among men.' ॥ 2-44-20 ॥
