यद अस्तव्यम इमं शश्वन मॊहात संस्तौषि भक्तितः केशवं तच च ते भीष्म न कश चिद अनुमन्यते ॥ २-४१-१६ ॥

'O Bhishma, no one approves of your conduct in continually praising Kesava, who is unworthy of such praise, driven by ignorance and devotion alone.' ॥ 2-41-16 ॥

english translation

yada astavyama imaM zazvana mòhAta saMstauSi bhaktitaH kezavaM taca ca te bhISma na kaza cida anumanyate ॥ 2-41-16 ॥

कथं भॊजस्य पुरुषे वर्ग पाले दुरात्मनि समावेशयसे सर्वं जगत केवलकाम्यया ॥ २-४१-१७ ॥

'How do you, driven solely by your desires, place the entire universe under the dominion of Bhoja, the wicked cowherd and ruler?' ॥ 2-41-17 ॥

english translation

kathaM bhòjasya puruSe varga pAle durAtmani samAvezayase sarvaM jagata kevalakAmyayA ॥ 2-41-17 ॥

अथ वैषा न ते भक्तिः पकृतिं याति भारत मयैव कथितं पूर्वं भूलिङ्गशकुनिर यथा ॥ २-४१-१८ ॥

'Perhaps, O Bharata, this inclination of yours does not align with your true nature, much like the false predictions of the Bhulinga bird, as I have already mentioned.' ॥ 2-41-18 ॥

english translation

atha vaiSA na te bhaktiH pakRtiM yAti bhArata mayaiva kathitaM pUrvaM bhUliGgazakunira yathA ॥ 2-41-18 ॥

भूलिङ्गशकुनिर नाम पार्श्वे हिमवतः परे भीष्म तस्याः सदा वाचॊ शरूयन्ते ऽरथविगर्हिताः ॥ २-४१-१९ ॥

'O Bhishma, there is a bird named Bhulingashakuni on the other side of the Himalayas. Its words, which are always heard, are devoid of meaning and censurable.' ॥ 2-41-19 ॥

bhUliGgazakunira nAma pArzve himavataH pare bhISma tasyAH sadA vAcò zarUyante 'rathavigarhitAH ॥ 2-41-19 ॥

मा साहसम इतीदं सा सततं वाशते किल साहसं चात्मनातीव चरन्ती नावबुध्यते ॥ २-४१-२० ॥

'It is said that this bird constantly screeches 'Do not be rash!' However, it does not realize that it is behaving very rashly.' ॥ 2-41-20 ॥

mA sAhasama itIdaM sA satataM vAzate kila sAhasaM cAtmanAtIva carantI nAvabudhyate ॥ 2-41-20 ॥
