'After purifying himself and touching the water, the hero Sahadeva then addressed Agni, the sanctifier of all things, with the following words:"This endeavor is for your sake, O Dark-pathed One. Salutations to you."' ।। 2-28-27 ।।
'I bow to you, O one whose path is always marked by smoke. All my efforts are for your sake. O sanctifier of all, you are the mouth of the gods and the embodiment of Sacrifice.' ।। 2-28-28 ।।
'The Vedas were born for your sake, hence you are called Jatavedas. O carrier of oblations, you should not create an obstacle to this sacrifice.' ।। 2-28-29 ।।
'Having said this, the son of Madri, that tiger among men, spread some kusa grass on the ground and sat down, facing the fire, in front of his terrified and anxious troops, awaiting the approach of the fire.' ।। 2-28-30 ।।
