लग्नस्य पूर्वं न भवेद्दशा तु यदा तदा त्वन्यदशा भवेत्सा। जन्ये तु नेच्छन्ति परे तु केचिद्गुरुप्रसादेन च लभ्यमेतत्॥५॥

If at a birth, the Lagna Dasa does not occur first, then another Dasa will take its place. But others do not accept this view. As this involves a conflict of opinions, the correct procedure must be understood only by the grace of one's teacher.

english translation

lagnasya pUrvaM na bhaveddazA tu yadA tadA tvanyadazA bhavetsA। janye tu necchanti pare tu kecidguruprasAdena ca labhyametat॥5॥
