समुदायदशामार्गं एवं क्रम उदाहृतः। राशितुल्यानि वर्षाणि प्रयच्छन्त्युदयो बली॥६१॥
The process of finding out the Dasaperiods of the several planets through the figures in the Sarvashtakavarga has been already explained. When the Lagna is strong, it contributes as many years as are signified by the Lagna Rasi.

उभयत्रापि विज्ञाय लग्नदायं विनिर्दिशेत। अष्टवर्गदशामार्गं सर्वेषां संमतं विदुः॥६२॥
It is only after ascertaining by both the methods that one should fix up the years contributed by the Lagna. The process of finding out the Dasaperiods through the Ashtakavarga method is acceptable to all.

गृहैक्यस्य दशाभावे भेदमार्गं प्रकल्पयेत्। तदोच्चनीचमार्गेण दशां कुर्याद्विचक्षणः॥६३॥
In the case of any difficulty in ascertaining the Dasaperiods of planets owing to their being conjoined with other planets, a different method should be resorted to. A clever astrologer should calculate the Dasas of the planets through their exaltation and depression positions.

नीचारिभवनयातैर्ग्रहैः समस्तैस्तदंशगैर्वाऽपि। यवनाचार्यमतेन ग्नहदायं कल्पयेन्मतिमान्॥६४॥
In the case of planets occupying depression, or inimical Rasis or Amsas, a wise astrologer should determine the contributions of the planets according to the method laid down by Sage Yavana.

ग्रहसहिते केन्द्रस्थे चन्द्रे केन्द्राद्बहिः स्थितैः शेषैः। समुदायाष्टकविधिना ग्नहदायं कल्पयेन्मणित्थमतात्॥६५॥
When the Moon occupies a Kendra house in conjunction with another planet, and when the other planets are posited outside the Kendra houses, one ought to adopt the Samudayashtakavarga method for ascertaining the contributions of the several planets. This is the view of Manitha.
