भानोस्तंशशिनो नटःसनिधरापुत्रस्य राहोर्दया तापोदेवगुरोर्धयाननशनेः सायं विदो वत्सराः। केतोः सानिभृगोर्नखाश्च कथितास्त्वाग्नेयनक्षत्रका द्भानामर्यमदैवताश्च खचरा विश्वर्क्षतः स्वामिनः॥१॥
The Dasa-period reckoned in years of the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu and Venus are in their order 6, 10, 7, 18, 16, 19, 17, 7 and 20, and these planets preside over the nine triads of stars, counted from Krittika, thus: Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttarashadha Sun Rohini, Hasta, Sravana - Moon. Mrigasiras, Chitra, Dhanishta - Mars. Ardra, Swati, Satabhishak - Rahu. Punarvasu, Visakha, Purvabhadra - Jupiter. Pushya, Anuradha, Uttarabhadra - Saturn. Aslesha, Jyeshta, Revati - Mercury. Magha, Moola, Aswini - Ketu. Purva- Phalguni, purvashadha, Bharani - Venus.

bhAnostaMzazino naTaHsanidharAputrasya rAhordayA tApodevagurordhayAnanazaneH sAyaM vido vatsarAH। ketoH sAnibhRgornakhAzca kathitAstvAgneyanakSatrakA dbhAnAmaryamadaivatAzca khacarA vizvarkSataH svAminaH॥1॥

The effects of the several Dasas should be predicted to happen in regular order reckoned from one’s natal star or from the Ascendant. All planets prove malefic at the concluding periods of their Dasas; this is generally the case for all persons.

svajanmanakSatravilagnato vA brUyAtkrameNaiva dazAphalAni। dazAvasAneSvazubhaM ca sarve kurvanti sAmAnyamidaM narANAm॥2॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआदित्यभौमशनिराहुदशावसाने रोगार्थनाशकलहास्त्वशुभानि सन्ति। पापग्रहेण सहितस्य दशावसाने मृत्युं वदेन्निधनसंस्थितखेचरस्य॥३॥
At the close of the Dasa-periods of the Sun, Mars, Saturn and Rahu, diseases will crop up, wealth will be destroyed, quarrels and such untoward events will generally happen. In the case of a planet conjoined with a malefic or situated in the 8th house, the death of the person concerned may be expected.

When a malefic planet is in an asterism whose Dasa is ruling at the time, the person concerned will be afflicted with sorrow and the same will occur at the time signified by the distance travelled in the Rasi occupied by the aforesaid malefic.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रिमण्डलेष्वथैकस्मिन् पापस्तिष्ठति दुर्बलः। सौम्यग्रहयुतो न स्याद्दशान्ते मृत्युमाप्नुयात्॥५॥
When in one of the three cyclic divisions (into which the 12 houses may be arranged under certain conditions for आयुर्दाय—Ayurdaya purposes), there is a malefic planet devoid of strength and unassociated with a benefic planet, the person affected by this Yoga will meet with his demise at the conclusion of the Dasa of the weak malefic planet in question.
