तुङ्गाच्च्युतस्यं तु दशाऽवरोहिणी निगदिता शशिनः। रोहावरोहभेदः सम्यक् त्रिविधः पुरातनैः कथितः॥४॥

If at a birth the Moon has fallen from her exaltation, her Dasa is termed अवरोहिणी- descending. The difference between आरोह and अवरोह is distinguished in three ways by the ancients.

tuGgAccyutasyaM tu dazA'varohiNI nigaditA zazinaH। rohAvarohabhedaH samyak trividhaH purAtanaiH kathitaH॥4॥
