आरोहिणीति विदिता विपरीता सावरोहिणी ख्याता। नीचाच्च्युतस्य हि दशा हिमगोरारोहिणी कथिता॥३॥

it is termed आरोहिणी or ascending. If it be contrarywise, it is called अवरोहिणी. Where the Moon has left his नीच or depression, then also her Dasa is known as आरोहिणी.
