यावद्वायुः स्थितो देहे तावज्जीवितमुच्यते I मरणं तस्य निष्क्रान्ति स्ततो वायुं निरोधयेत् ॥३-८०॥
Life exists so long as the vayu (praṇa) remains in the body. Death means the exit of prana. Therefore, prana should be controlled.

जब तक शरीर में वायु (प्राण) रहता है तब तक जीवन मौजूद रहता है। मृत्यु का अर्थ है प्राण का बाहर निकलना। अत: प्राण पर नियंत्रण रखना चाहिए।
