Gherand Samhita
अथ भस्त्रिकाकुम्भकः । भस्त्रैव लोहकाराणां यथाक्रमेण सम्भ्रमेत् । तथा वायुं च नासाभ्यामुभाभ्यां चालयेच्छनैः ॥५-७५॥
Just as a blacksmith's bellows keeps moving air in and out continuously without stopping. In the same way, the seeker should inhale and exhale air slowly from both the nostrils.
english translation
जिस प्रकार लोहार की धौकनी बिना रुकें निरन्तर चलती हुई वायु को अन्दर और बाहर लेती व छोड़ती रहती है । ठीक उसी प्रकार साधक को नासिका के दोनों छिद्रों से वायु को धीरे- धीरे लेना व छोड़ना चाहिए ।
