अन्नेन पूरयेदर्धं तोयेन तु तृतीयकम् । उदरस्य तुरीयांशं संरक्षेद्वायुचारणे ॥५-२२॥
Fill half or part of the stomach with food, the third part with water and the fourth part should be left empty for the passage of air.

पेट के आधे भाग अथवा हिस्से को अन्न से भरें, तीसरे हिस्से को जल से व चौथे हिस्से को वायु के आने- जाने के लिए खाली छोड़ देना चाहिए ।
