रूपयौवनलावण्यं नारीणां पुरुषं विना । मूलबन्धमहाबन्धौ महावेधं विना तथा ॥३-४१॥

sanskrit

Just as without a man, a woman's beauty (beautiful complexion), youth (youth) and beauty (adorable beauty) have no importance, that is, without a man all this is meaningless. Similarly, without Mahavedha Mudra, Moolabandha and Mahabandha have no importance, that is, practicing Moolabandha and Mahabandha without Mahavedha is meaningless.

hk transliteration

महाबन्धं समासाद्य उड्डानकुम्भकं चरेत् । महावेधः समाख्यातो योगिनां सिद्धिदायकः ॥३-४२॥

sanskrit

First the seeker should sit in the position of Mahabandha Mudra, after this practice Kumbhaka (stop the pranavayu outside) while applying Uddiyana Bandha. Thus it is called Mahavedha Mudra. Which grants success to Yogis.

अथ महावेधस्य फलकथनम् । महाबन्धमूलबन्धौ महावेधसमन्वितौ । प्रत्यहं कुरुते यस्तु स योगी योगवित्तमः ॥३-४३॥

sanskrit

The yoga practitioner who practices Mahavedha Mudra along with Moolabandha and Mahabandha daily is called a knowledgeable or great yogi of yoga.

न मृत्युतो भयं तस्य न जरा तस्य विद्यते । गोपनीयः प्रयत्नेन वेधोऽयं योगिपुङ्गवैः ॥३-४४॥

sanskrit

Who is neither troubled by old age nor is he ever afraid of death. That is why all the best yogis have said that they should try to keep the method of Mahavedha Mudra a secret.

नाभिमूलेवसेत् सूर्यस्तालुमूले च चन्द्रमा: । अमृतं ग्रसते सूर्यस्ततो मृत्युवशो नर: ॥३-४५॥

sanskrit

In the human body, the Sun resides in the core part of the navel i.e. in the middle of the navel and the Moon resides in the palatine region i.e. in the throat. The seeker dies only when the juice secreted (flowing) from the moon is absorbed by the sun.
