प्रविशद्भिः सैन्यऽदीन्सगृध्रकङ्कैर्विनाआमिषं ध्वांक्षैः । अविरुद्धैस्तैः प्रीतिर्द्विषतां युद्धं विरुद्धैश्च ॥ ९५-४६ ॥

If the crow, accompanied by a vulture and a heron, be seen to enter an army without fighting, there will be good luck and if they happen to be at strife, there will be fight between the enemies.

pravizadbhiH sainya'dInsagRdhrakaGkairvinAAmiSaM dhvAMkSaiH । aviruddhaistaiH prItirdviSatAM yuddhaM viruddhaizca ॥ 95-46 ॥

बन्धः सूकरसंस्थे पङ्काक्ते सूकरे द्विके अर्थऽप्तिः । क्षेमं खरौष्ट्रसंस्थे के चित्प्राहुर्वधं तु खरे ॥ ९५-४७ ॥

If the crow be seen to cry from the back of a pig, there will be imprisonment; if it be seen to cry from the backs of two pigs covered with mire, there will be the gain of wealth; if from the back of an ass or a camel, there will be prosperity. According to some, if the crow be seen to cry from the back of an ass, there will be imprisonment.

bandhaH sUkarasaMsthe paGkAkte sUkare dvike artha'ptiH । kSemaM kharauSTrasaMsthe ke citprAhurvadhaM tu khare ॥ 95-47 ॥

वाहनलाभो अश्वगते विरुवत्यनुयायिनि क्षतजपातः । अन्ये अप्यनुव्रजन्तो यातारं काकवद्विहगाः ॥ ९५-४८ ॥

If the crow (vāyasa) be seen to cry from the back of a horse, there will be gain of a vehicle; if it be seen to cry following another crow, there will be blood-shed. The same remarks apply to other birds.

vAhanalAbho azvagate viruvatyanuyAyini kSatajapAtaH । anye apyanuvrajanto yAtAraM kAkavadvihagAH ॥ 95-48 ॥

द्वात्रिंशत्प्रविभक्ते दिग्चक्रे यद्यथा समुद्दिष्टम् । तत्तत्तथा विधेयं गुणदोषफलं यियासूनाम् ॥ ९५-४९ ॥

The crow in the several points of the compass indicates the same effects as those described for other ominous birds.

dvAtriMzatpravibhakte digcakre yadyathA samuddiSTam । tattattathA vidheyaM guNadoSaphalaM yiyAsUnAm ॥ 95-49 ॥

का इति काकस्य रुतं स्वनिलयसंस्थस्य निष्फलं प्रोक्तम् । कव इति चऽत्मप्रीत्यै कैति रुते स्निग्धमित्रऽप्तिः ॥ ९५-५० ॥

If the crow be heard to cry kā from its nest, the cry signifies nothing; but if it be heard to cry kava there will be hilarity of mind: and if ka be the cry, there will be a meeting with an intimate friend.

kA iti kAkasya rutaM svanilayasaMsthasya niSphalaM proktam । kava iti ca'tmaprItyai kaiti rute snigdhamitra'ptiH ॥ 95-50 ॥
