आमं तिन्दुकं आमं कपित्थकं पुष्पं अपि च शाल्मल्याः । बीजानि शल्लकीनां धन्वनवल्को वचा चैति ॥ ५७-०१ ॥

Unripe Ceylon ebony, unripe wood-apple, and also the flower of the silk-cotton tree, the seeds of the frankincense trees, the bark of the East Indian screw tree, and sweet flag.

एतैः सलिलद्रोणः क्वाथयितव्यो अष्टभागशेषश्च । अवतार्यो अस्य च कल्को द्रव्यैरेतैः समनुयोज्यः ॥ ५७-०२ ॥

Boil these ingredients in a droṇa of water until the liquid is reduced to one-eighth of its original volume. After removing it from the heat, a paste made of these same substances should be thoroughly incorporated into it.

श्रीवासकरसगुग्गुलुभल्लातककुन्दुरूकसर्जरसैः । अतसीबिल्वैश्च युतः कल्को अयं वज्रलेपऽख्यः ॥ ५७-०३ ॥

Put into the kalka thus prepared Guggulu, the juice of the Śrīvāsaka and of Sarja and Bhallāta, Kundumka, and the fruit of the Atasī and of Bilva. The paste thus formed is known as Vajralepa.

प्रासादहर्म्यवलभीलिङ्गप्रतिमासु कुड्यकूपेषु । सन्तप्तो दातव्यो वर्षसहस्रायुतस्थायी ॥ ५७-०४ ॥

In the construction of temples and of the palaces of kings, of turrets, and in fixing the Liṅga or the image in the temple, in the construction of walls and wells, if the vegetable cement above referred to, be melted and used, the structures will last for a crore of years.

लाक्षाकुन्दुरुगुग्गुलुगृहधूमकपित्थबिल्वमध्यानि । नाग फलनिम्ब तिन्दुकमदनफलमधूकमञ्जिष्ठाः ॥ ५७-०५ ॥

The central parts of lac, jasmine, Indian bdellium, soot, wood apple, and bael fruit; along with lead, the fruits of the neem tree, the ebony tree, the emetic nut, the butter tree, and Indian madder.
