स्निग्धा सिताच्छहरिता नयनाभिरामा सौभाग्यमार्दवसुखाभ्युदयान्करोति । सर्वार्थसिद्धिजननी जननीइव चऽप्या छाया फलं तनुभृतां शुभं आदधाति ॥ ६८-९१ ॥
The complexion which is glossy, white, clear green and agreeable to look at is caused by the element of water; it will make all creatures possessing it happy and successful in all their attempts and will produce wealth, comfort, luxury and prosperity.
english translation
snigdhA sitAcchaharitA nayanAbhirAmA saubhAgyamArdavasukhAbhyudayAnkaroti । sarvArthasiddhijananI jananIiva ca'pyA chAyA phalaM tanubhRtAM zubhaM AdadhAti ॥ 68-91 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचण्डाअधृष्या पद्महेमाग्निवर्णा युक्ता तेजोविक्रमैः सप्रतापैः । आग्नेयिइति प्राणिनां स्याज्जयाय क्षिप्रं सिद्धिं वाञ्छितार्थस्य दत्ते ॥ ६८-९२ ॥
The complexion which indicates fear and is unbearable and of the colour of the lotus, gold or fire, and which also indicates strength, power and valour, is caused by the element of fire.

caNDAadhRSyA padmahemAgnivarNA yuktA tejovikramaiH sapratApaiH । Agneyiiti prANinAM syAjjayAya kSipraM siddhiM vAJchitArthasya datte ॥ 68-92 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमलिनपरुषकृष्णा पापगन्धाअनिलौत्था जनयति वधबन्धव्याध्यनर्थार्थनाशान् । स्फटिकसदृशरूपा भाग्ययुक्ताआत्युदारा निधिरिव गगनौत्था श्रेयसां स्वच्छवर्णा ॥ ६८-९३ ॥
The complexion which is dirty, not glossy, black and of bad odour is caused by the element of air. It will cause to the person death or imprisonment, disease. ruin and loss of wealth. The complexion which is of the colour of the crystal, noble, clear and indicating wealth and generosity, is caused by the element of ether (Ākāśa). It will give a person all that he desires.

malinaparuSakRSNA pApagandhAanilautthA janayati vadhabandhavyAdhyanarthArthanAzAn । sphaTikasadRzarUpA bhAgyayuktAAtyudArA nidhiriva gaganautthA zreyasAM svacchavarNA ॥ 68-93 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptछायाः क्रमेण कुजलाग्न्यनिलाम्बरौत्थाः के चिद्वदन्ति दश ताश्च यथाअनुपूर्व्या । सूर्याब्जनाभपुरुहूतयमौडुपानां तुल्यास्तु लक्षणफलैरिति तत्समासः ॥ ६८-९४ ॥
Thus has been described the complexion caused by the elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether—five in number. Some writers treat of five more complexions caused by the Sun, Viṣṇu, Indra, Yama and the Moon, and they have described in detail the properties of each.

chAyAH krameNa kujalAgnyanilAmbarautthAH ke cidvadanti daza tAzca yathAanupUrvyA । sUryAbjanAbhapuruhUtayamauDupAnAM tulyAstu lakSaNaphalairiti tatsamAsaH ॥ 68-94 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकरिवृषरथौघभेरीमृदङ्गसिंहाभ्र निःस्वना भूपाः । गर्दभजर्जररूक्षस्वराश्च धनसौख्यसन्त्यक्ताः ॥ ६८-९५ ॥
If the voice (svara) be like the sound of the elephant, the bull, the chariot, the drum, the lion or the clouds, the person will be a king; but if it be hoarse and rough like the braying of the ass, the person will be poor and unhappy,
