छायाः क्रमेण कुजलाग्न्यनिलाम्बरौत्थाः के चिद्वदन्ति दश ताश्च यथाअनुपूर्व्या । सूर्याब्जनाभपुरुहूतयमौडुपानां तुल्यास्तु लक्षणफलैरिति तत्समासः ॥ ६८-९४ ॥

Thus has been described the complexion caused by the elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether—five in number. Some writers treat of five more complexions caused by the Sun, Viṣṇu, Indra, Yama and the Moon, and they have described in detail the properties of each.
