स्नेहः पञ्चसु लक्ष्यो वाग्जिह्वादन्तनेत्रनखसंस्थः । सुतधनसौभाग्ययुताः स्निग्धैस्तैर्निर्धना रूक्षैः ॥ ६८-१०१ ॥

If the five parts—mouth, tongue, teeth, eyes and nails be glossy (sneha), the person will have sons and will be rich, happy and prosperous; it they be otherwise, he will be poor.

snehaH paJcasu lakSyo vAgjihvAdantanetranakhasaMsthaH । sutadhanasaubhAgyayutAH snigdhaistairnirdhanA rUkSaiH ॥ 68-101 ॥

द्युतिमान्वर्णस्निग्धः क्षितिपानां मध्यमः सुतार्थवताम् । रूक्षो धनहीनानां शुद्धः शुभदो न सङ्कीर्णः ॥ ६८-१०२ ॥

If the colour (varṇa) be very bright and glossy, the person will be a king; if moderately so, he will be wealthy and will have sons; if the colour be disagreeable to the eye, he will be poor; if of a single colour, he will be happy; and if mixed, miserable.

dyutimAnvarNasnigdhaH kSitipAnAM madhyamaH sutArthavatAm । rUkSo dhanahInAnAM zuddhaH zubhado na saGkIrNaH ॥ 68-102 ॥

साध्यं अनूकं वक्त्राद्गोवृषशार्दूलसिंहगरुडमुखाः । अप्रतिहतप्रतापा जितरिपवो मानवैन्द्राश्च ॥ ६८-१०३ ॥

The peculiar character (anūka) of a person must be ascertained from his face; if the face be like that of the cow, the ox, the tiger, the lion or eagle, he will defeat his enemies, be successful in fight, and will become a king.

sAdhyaM anUkaM vaktrAdgovRSazArdUlasiMhagaruDamukhAH । apratihatapratApA jitaripavo mAnavaindrAzca ॥ 68-103 ॥

वानरमहिषवराहाजतुल्यवदनाः श्रुत अर्थसुखभाजः । गर्दभकरभप्रतिमैर्मुखैः शरीरैश्च निःस्वसुखाः ॥ ६८-१०४ ॥

If the face be like that of the monkey, the buffalo, the hog or the goat, he will have sons, will be rich and will live in comfort; and if the face be like that of the ass or the camel, the person will be poor and unhappy.

vAnaramahiSavarAhAjatulyavadanAH zruta arthasukhabhAjaH । gardabhakarabhapratimairmukhaiH zarIraizca niHsvasukhAH ॥ 68-104 ॥

अष्टशतं षण्णवतिः परिमाणं चतुरशीतिरिति पुंसाम् । उत्तमसमहीनानां अङ्गुलसङ्ख्या स्वमानेन ॥ ६८-१०५ ॥

If the height (unmāna) of the person be 108, 96, or 84 of his own digits (breadth of finger), he is respectively a superior, an average and an inferior man.
