वैश्यानां जीवकखदिरसिन्धुकस्यन्दनाश् च शुभफलदाः । तिन्दुककेसरसर्जार्जुनऽम्रशालाश्च शूद्राणाम् ॥ ५९-०६ ॥
If the master is a Vaiśya, the trees Jīvaka, Khadira, Sindhuka and Syandana should be selected for the purpose; and if the master is a Śūdra, the trees Tinduka, Kesara, Sarja and Aṛjuna should be selected.
english translation
vaizyAnAM jIvakakhadirasindhukasyandanAz ca zubhaphaladAH । tindukakesarasarjArjuna'mrazAlAzca zUdrANAm ॥ 59-06 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलिङ्गं वा प्रतिमा वा द्रुमवत्स्थाप्या यथा दिशं यस्मात् । तस्माच्चिह्नयितव्या दिशो द्रुमस्यऊर्ध्वं अथ वाअधः । ५९-०७ ॥
In the formation of the Liṅga or an image, the sides of the tree as it grew shall be preserved; for this purpose the sides as well as the bottom and the top shall be marked before cutting.
english translation
liGgaM vA pratimA vA drumavatsthApyA yathA dizaM yasmAt । tasmAccihnayitavyA dizo drumasyaUrdhvaM atha vAadhaH । 59-07 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरमान्नमोदकओदनदधिपललौल्लोपिकाआदिभिर्भक्ष्यैः । मद्यैः कुसुमैर्धूपैर्गन्धैश्च तरुं समभ्यर्च्य ॥ ५९-०८ ॥
The tree to be cut shall first be worshipped with rice cooked in milk, sweet-meat balls rice, curdled milk and sweet-meats made of ground sesamum and sugar and the like, liquor, flowers, scented smoke and sandal paste.

paramAnnamodakaodanadadhipalalaullopikAAdibhirbhakSyaiH । madyaiH kusumairdhUpairgandhaizca taruM samabhyarcya ॥ 59-08 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुरपितृपिशाचराक्षसभुजगासुरगणविनायकऽद्यानाम् । कृत्वा रात्रौ पूजां वृक्षं संस्पृश्य च ब्रूयात् ॥ ५९-०९ ॥
Then shall be worshipped at night the Devas, the Pitṛs, the Piśācas, the Rākṣasas, the Nāgas, the Asuras, the Gaṇadevas. Vināyaka and others. The tree shall be touched by the hand and the following mantras shall be pronounced.

surapitRpizAcarAkSasabhujagAsuragaNavinAyaka'dyAnAm । kRtvA rAtrau pUjAM vRkSaM saMspRzya ca brUyAt ॥ 59-09 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअर्चार्थं अमुकस्य त्वं देवस्य परिकल्पितः । नमस्ते वृक्ष पूजेयं विधिवत्सम्प्रगृह्यताम् ॥ ५९-१० ॥
You have been designed to worship a certain deity. O tree, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. Please accept me according to the prescribed rituals.

arcArthaM amukasya tvaM devasya parikalpitaH । namaste vRkSa pUjeyaM vidhivatsampragRhyatAm ॥ 59-10 ॥
