लिङ्गं वा प्रतिमा वा द्रुमवत्स्थाप्या यथा दिशं यस्मात् । तस्माच्चिह्नयितव्या दिशो द्रुमस्यऊर्ध्वं अथ वाअधः । ५९-०७ ॥
In the formation of the Liṅga or an image, the sides of the tree as it grew shall be preserved; for this purpose the sides as well as the bottom and the top shall be marked before cutting.
