मधुपर्केण पुरोधा भक्ष्यैर् बलिभिश्च विधिवदुपतिष्ठेत् । स्थालीपाकं जुहुयाद्विधिवन्मन्त्रैश्च तल्लिङ्गैः ॥ ४६-१६ ॥
He shall satisfy the Devas by the offer of Madhuparka, sweet meats and cooked rice, and he shall throw āhutis of boiled rice into the fire, chanting mantras appropriate to the several Devas.
english translation
madhuparkeNa purodhA bhakSyair balibhizca vidhivadupatiSThet । sthAlIpAkaM juhuyAdvidhivanmantraizca talliGgaiH ॥ 46-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति विबुधविकारे शान्तयः सप्तरात्रं द्विजविबुधगणार्चा गीतनृत्यौत्सवाश्च । विधिवदवनिपालैर्यैः प्रयुक्ता न तेषां भवति दुरितपाको दक्षिणाभिश्च रुद्धः ॥ ४६-१७ ॥
That king who for seven days shall perform Homa, feed Brāhmaṇas and worship the Devas accompanied by music and dance, and who shall donate large sums of money to the Brāhmaṇas, shall be freed from the effects of all his sins.
english translation
iti vibudhavikAre zAntayaH saptarAtraM dvijavibudhagaNArcA gItanRtyautsavAzca । vidhivadavanipAlairyaiH prayuktA na teSAM bhavati duritapAko dakSiNAbhizca ruddhaH ॥ 46-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptराष्ट्रे यस्यानग्निः प्रदीप्यते दीप्यते च नैन्धनवान् । मनुजेश्वरस्य पीडा तस्य च राष्ट्रस्य विज्ञेया ॥ ४६-१८ ॥
That prince will suffer with his kingdom in whose province a fire breaks out where there is no fire or fire ceases to burn even when fed with fuel.
english translation
rASTre yasyAnagniH pradIpyate dIpyate ca naindhanavAn । manujezvarasya pIDA tasya ca rASTrasya vijJeyA ॥ 46-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजलमांसऽर्द्रज्वलने नृपतिवधः प्रहरणे रणो रौद्रः । सैन्यग्रामपुरेषु च नाशो वह्नेर्भयं कुरुते ॥ ४६-१९ ॥
If either water or flesh or any wet substance should catch fire and burn, the king will suffer miseries; if weapons of war should catch fire and burn, there would be war in the land.
english translation
jalamAMsa'rdrajvalane nRpativadhaH praharaNe raNo raudraH । sainyagrAmapureSu ca nAzo vahnerbhayaM kurute ॥ 46-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रासादभवनतोरणकेत्वादिष्वननलेन दग्धेषु । तडिता वा षण्मासात्परचक्रस्यऽगमो नियमात् ॥ ४६-२० ॥
If temples and palaces of kings or the mansions of the rich, archways or gates, flag-staff and the like should catch fire and burn, or if these should do so being struck by lightning, there would surely be a foreign invasion of the land six months after the occurrence.

prAsAdabhavanatoraNaketvAdiSvananalena dagdheSu । taDitA vA SaNmAsAtparacakrasya'gamo niyamAt ॥ 46-20 ॥
