अभ्यर्चितऽपणगृहं प्रभूतपुण्याहवेदनिर्घोषम् । नटनर्तकगेयज्ञैराकीर्णचतुष्पथं नगरम् ॥ ४३-२६ ॥

The city was filled with revered shops and houses, resounding with the echoes of sacred chants on many auspicious days; its crossroads were crowded with actors, dancers, and those skilled in song.

तत्र पताकाः श्वेता भवन्ति विजयाय रोगदाः पीताः । जयदाश्च चित्ररूपा रक्ताः शस्त्रप्रकोपाय ॥ ४३-२७ ॥

Flags hoisted in the capital, if white, would lead to victory; if yellow, to outbreak of diseases; if variegated, to success; and if red, to clash of arms.

tatra patAkAH zvetA bhavanti vijayAya rogadAH pItAH । jayadAzca citrarUpA raktAH zastraprakopAya ॥ 43-27 ॥

यष्टिं प्रवेशयन्तीं निपातयन्तो भयाय नागाद्याः । बालानां तलशब्दे संग्रामः सत्त्वयुद्धे वा ॥ ४३-२८ ॥

If the elephants or other animals carrying the Banner into the town allow it to fall down, there would be danger in store; and if boys clap their hands or if animals flight each other, at that time, there would be fighting.

yaSTiM pravezayantIM nipAtayanto bhayAya nAgAdyAH । bAlAnAM talazabde saMgrAmaH sattvayuddhe vA ॥ 43-28 ॥

सन्तक्ष्य पुनस्तक्षा विधिवद्यष्टिं प्ररोपयेद्यन्त्रे । जागरं एकादश्यां नरेश्वरः कारयेच्चास्याम् ॥ ४३-२९ ॥

After satisfying the stick, one should again place the stick in the instrument according to the prescribed ritual. The king should perform jagara on the eleventh day of the month.

सितवस्त्रौष्णीषधरः पुरोहितः शाक्रवैष्णवैर्मन्त्रैः । जुहुयादग्निं साम्वत्सरो निमित्तानि गृह्णीयात् ॥ ४३-३० ॥

The priest, dressed in white and wearing a turban, chanted the mantras of the Śākra and Vaiṣṇavas. One should offer oblations in the fire for one year and accept the occasions.
