दाहो दिशां राजभयाय पीतो देशस्य नाशाय हुताशवर्णः । यश्चारुणः स्यादपसव्यवायुः सस्यस्य नाशं स करोति दृष्टः ॥ ३१-०१ ॥
If the appearance of Digdāha should be of yellow colour, rulers will suffer; if it should be of the colour of fire, the country will suffer; if red and the wind should blow from right to left, crops will suffer.
english translation
dAho dizAM rAjabhayAya pIto dezasya nAzAya hutAzavarNaH । yazcAruNaH syAdapasavyavAyuH sasyasya nAzaM sa karoti dRSTaH ॥ 31-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयो अतीव दीप्त्या कुरुते प्रकाशं छायां अपि व्यञ्जयते अर्कवद्यः । च्राज्ञो महद्वेदयते भयं स शस्त्रप्रकोपं क्षतजानुरूपः ॥ ३१-०२ ॥
If the appearance should be very bright and cast shadows, the rulers will suffer; if it be of blood colour, there will be wars in the land.
english translation
yo atIva dIptyA kurute prakAzaM chAyAM api vyaJjayate arkavadyaH । crAjJo mahadvedayate bhayaM sa zastraprakopaM kSatajAnurUpaH ॥ 31-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्राक्क्षत्रियाणां सनरेश्वराणां प्राग्दक्षिणे शिल्पिकुमारपीडा । याम्ये सहौग्रैः पुरुषैस्तु वैश्या दूताः पुनर्भूप्रमदाश्च कोणे ॥ ३१-०३ ॥
If the appearance should be seen about the eastern horizon, rulers and Kṣatriyas will suffer; if it should be seen about the south-eastern horizon, painters, sculptors and children will suffer; if in the south, wicked men, the Vaiśyas and messengers will suffer; if in the south-west, re-married virgin widows will suffer.

prAkkSatriyANAM sanarezvarANAM prAgdakSiNe zilpikumArapIDA । yAmye sahaugraiH puruSaistu vaizyA dUtAH punarbhUpramadAzca koNe ॥ 31-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपश्चात्तु शूद्राः कृषिजीविनश्च चौरास्तुरङ्गैः सह वायुदिक्स्थे । पीडां व्रजन्त्युत्तरतश्च विप्राः पाखण्डिनो[क्-पाषण्डिनो] वाणिजकाश्च शार्व्याम् ॥ ३१-०४ ॥
If the appearance should be seen about the western horizon, Śūdras and farmers will suffer; if in the north-western horizon, thieves and horses will suffer; if in the north, the Brāhmaṇas will suffer; and if in the north-east, heretics and merchants will suffer.
english translation
pazcAttu zUdrAH kRSijIvinazca caurAsturaGgaiH saha vAyudiksthe । pIDAM vrajantyuttaratazca viprAH pAkhaNDino[k-pASaNDino] vANijakAzca zArvyAm ॥ 31-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनभः प्रसन्नं विमलानि भानि प्रदक्षिणं वाति सदागतिश्च । दिशां च दाहः कनकावदातो हिताय लोकस्य सपार्थिवस्य ॥ ३१-०५ ॥
If when the sky is clear, the stars bright, and the wind blows from left to right, the appearance of Digdāha should be of the colour of gold, rulers as well as the country will prosper.

nabhaH prasannaM vimalAni bhAni pradakSiNaM vAti sadAgatizca । dizAM ca dAhaH kanakAvadAto hitAya lokasya sapArthivasya ॥ 31-05 ॥
