यादृशेन ग्रहेणैन्दुर्युक्तस्तादृग्भवेत्सो अपि । मनोवृत्तिसमायोगाद्विकार इव वक्त्रस्य ॥ १०४-५६ ॥
The Moon partakes of the character of the planet who occupies the same house with her—just in the same way as the face assumes the character of the mind.
english translation
yAdRzena graheNainduryuktastAdRgbhavetso api । manovRttisamAyogAdvikAra iva vaktrasya ॥ 104-56 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपञ्चमं लघु सर्वेषु सप्तमं द्विचतुर्थयोः । यद्वत्श्लोकाक्षरं तद्वल्लघुतां याति दुःस्थितैः ॥ १०४-५७ ॥
If the planets (graha) occupy malefic places, a person will lose his importance i.e. become light just in the same way as the 5th letter of all the four feet and 7th letter of the 2nd and 4th feet become short—these restrictions apply to the Anuṣṭupa metre (in which this stanza is written.)
english translation
paJcamaM laghu sarveSu saptamaM dvicaturthayoH । yadvatzlokAkSaraM tadvallaghutAM yAti duHsthitaiH ॥ 104-57 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रकृत्याअपि लघुर्यश्च वृत्तबाह्ये व्यवस्थितः । स याति गुरुतां लोके यदा स्युः सुस्थिता ग्रहाः ॥ १०४-५८ ॥
Planets occupying benefîc places always produce good effects and a person, though low-born and of reprehensible conduct, becomes respectable in the world.
english translation
prakRtyAapi laghuryazca vRttabAhye vyavasthitaH । sa yAti gurutAM loke yadA syuH susthitA grahAH ॥ 104-58 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रारब्धं असुस्थितैर्ग्रहैर्यत्कर्मऽत्मविवृद्धये बुधैः । विनिहन्ति तदेव कर्म तान्वैतालीयं इव अयथाकृतम् ॥ १०४-५९ ॥
If planets do not occupy benefîc places, all that a person may do to promote his welfare will only prove injurious to him just in the same way as the ceremony of exorcism of the ghost injures a person when not properly conducted.
english translation
prArabdhaM asusthitairgrahairyatkarma'tmavivRddhaye budhaiH । vinihanti tadeva karma tAnvaitAlIyaM iva ayathAkRtam ॥ 104-59 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसौस्थित्यं अवेक्ष्य यो ग्रहेभ्यः काले प्रक्रमणं करोति राजा । अणुना अपि स पौरुषेण वृत्तस्याउपच्छन्दसिकस्य याति पारम् ॥ १०४-६० ॥
A king who starts on a journey when the planets (graha) are in benefîc places will gain his object though he might possess little power.

sausthityaM avekSya yo grahebhyaH kAle prakramaNaM karoti rAjA । aNunA api sa pauruSeNa vRttasyAupacchandasikasya yAti pAram ॥ 104-60 ॥
