Brihat Samhita
पञ्चमं लघु सर्वेषु सप्तमं द्विचतुर्थयोः । यद्वत्श्लोकाक्षरं तद्वल्लघुतां याति दुःस्थितैः ॥ १०४-५७ ॥
If the planets (graha) occupy malefic places, a person will lose his importance i.e. become light just in the same way as the 5th letter of all the four feet and 7th letter of the 2nd and 4th feet become short—these restrictions apply to the Anuṣṭupa metre (in which this stanza is written.)
