अपि कालं अपेक्ष्य च पात्रं शुभकृद्विदधात्यनुरूपम् । न मधौ बहु कं कुडवे वा विसृजत्यपि मेघवितानः ॥ १०४-४६ ॥
Though a planet (graha) might be benefic to a person, it produces benefic effects only according to the nature of the Daśā periods and the rank of the person in life, just in the same way as the quantity of rain falling into a small cup cannot but be small though the rain be excessive.

api kAlaM apekSya ca pAtraM zubhakRdvidadhAtyanurUpam । na madhau bahu kaM kuDave vA visRjatyapi meghavitAnaH ॥ 104-46 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरक्तैः पुष्पैर्गन्धैस्ताम्रैः कनकवृषबकुलकुसुमैर्दिवाकरभूसुतौ भक्त्या पूज्याविन्दुर्धेन्वा सितकुसुमरजतमधुरैः सितश्च मदप्रदैः । कृष्णद्रव्यैः सौरिः सौम्यो मणिरजततिलककुसुमैर्गुरुः परिपीतकैः प्रीतैः पीडा न स्यादुच्चाद्यदि पतति विशति यदि वा भुजङ्गविजृम्भितम् ॥ १०४-४७ ॥
The Sun and Mars shall be worshipped with red flowers, sandal paste, the Bakula flower (the fragrant flower of Mimusops elengi), gift of copper, gold and oxen to Brāhmaṇas. The Moon shall be worshipped by the gift of a white cow. Venus shall be worshipped with white flowers and by the gift of silver, and sweet and nutritious things. Saturn shall be worshipped by the gift of black substances. Mercury shall be worshipped by the gift of gems, silver and with the Tilaka flower. Jupiter shall be worshipped with yellow flower and by the gift of yellow substances. By the worship of the planets, a person escapes all miseries.

raktaiH puSpairgandhaistAmraiH kanakavRSabakulakusumairdivAkarabhUsutau bhaktyA pUjyAvindurdhenvA sitakusumarajatamadhuraiH sitazca madapradaiH । kRSNadravyaiH sauriH saumyo maNirajatatilakakusumairguruH paripItakaiH prItaiH pIDA na syAduccAdyadi patati vizati yadi vA bhujaGgavijRmbhitam ॥ 104-47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशमयौद्गतां अशुभदृष्टिं अपि विबुधविप्रपूजया । शान्तिजपनियमदानदमैः सुजनाभिभाषणसमागमैस्तथा ॥ १०४-४८ ॥
Evils indicated by the motion of the planets (graha) may be escaped by the worship of the Brāhmaṇas and the Devas, by expiatory ceremonies, by the recitation of mantras and sacred texts, by the practice of austerities, by gifts to Brāhmaṇas, by the subjugation of one’s passions, by moving in the company of Sādhus, and by conversing with them.

zamayaudgatAM azubhadRSTiM api vibudhaviprapUjayA । zAntijapaniyamadAnadamaiH sujanAbhibhASaNasamAgamaistathA ॥ 104-48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरविभौमौ पूर्वार्धे शशिसौरौ कथयतो अन्त्यगौ राशेः । सदसल्लक्षणं आर्यगीत्युपगीत्योर्यथासंख्यम् ॥ १०४-४९ ॥
The Sun and Mars produce their effects when passing through the first half of a sign; the Moon and Saturn produce their effects when moving through the 2nd half of a sign. The learned have declared so.

ravibhaumau pUrvArdhe zazisaurau kathayato antyagau rAzeH । sadasallakSaNaM AryagItyupagItyoryathAsaMkhyam ॥ 104-49 ॥

Mercury produces his effects throughout the period of his motion through a sign.
