कनीनके बहिर्वर्त्म कठिनो ग्रन्थिरुन्नतः । ताम्रः पक्वोऽस्रपूयस्रुदलज्याध्मायते मुहुः ॥ २३ ॥

A hard, elevated granthi (tumor) developing at the kaninaka (inner canthus), on the outer part of the lid, coppery red, suppurating and discharging blood and pus and getting filled up again and again is known as Alaji.
