रूपमुत्पत्स्यमानेऽस्मिन् हृत्कम्पः शून्यता भ्रमः । तमसो दर्शनं ध्यानं भ्रूव्युदासोऽक्षिवैकृतम् ॥ ६ ॥

The premonitory symptoms (purvarupa) appearing when this disease is about to manifest are: palpitations or tremors of the heart, a feeling of emptiness in the chest, dizziness/vertigo, perception of darkness before the eyes, deep anxiety or brooding, twitching or distortion of the eyebrows, and abnormal movements of the eyes.
