तीक्ष्णैः कुर्यादपस्मारे कर्मभिर्वमनादिभिः । वातिकं वस्तिभूयिष्ठैः पैत्तं प्रायो विरेचनैः ॥१६॥
which have become covered / obstructed (by the Doshas) should be cleared first by therapies such as strong emesis etc. Epilepsy caused by Vata should be treated predominantly with enema therapies (vasti); that caused by Pitta should be treated generally with purgation therapies (virechana).

श्लैष्मिकं वमनप्रायैरपस्मारमुपाचरेत् । सर्वतः सुविशुद्धस्य सम्यगाश्वासितस्य च ॥ १७ ॥
Epilepsy caused by Kapha should be treated mainly with emesis therapies (vamana). Once the patient has been thoroughly purified by all these cleansing procedures and well comforted,

अपस्मारज्वरोन्मादकामलान्तकरं पिबेत् । द्विपञ्चमूलत्रिफलाद्विनिशाकुटजत्वचः ॥१९॥
cow milk, curd and cow urine should be consumed to cure epilepsy, fever, insanity jaundice. Take two pala (96 grams) each of the following: the two types of panchamula (Dashamula: bilva, agnimantha, shyonaka, patala, gambhari, shalaparni, prishniparni, brihati, kantakari, and gokshura), triphala (haritaki, vibhitaki, and amalaki), the two types of nisha (haridra and daruharidra), and the bark of kutaja.

सप्तपर्णमपामार्गं नीलिनीं कटुरोहिणीम् । शम्याकपुष्करजटाफल्गुमूलदुरालभाः ॥ २० ॥
Take two pala (96 grams) each of saptaparna, apamarga, nilini, katurohini, shamyaka (aragvadha), pushkaramula, phalgumula, and duralabha.
