देहो दुःखसुखभ्रष्टो भ्रष्टसारथिवद्रथः । भ्रमत्यचिन्तितारम्भस्तत्र वातात्कृशाङ्गता ॥ ६ ॥
the body loses the capacity to experience happiness and unhappiness, and becomes like a chariot devoid of a charioteer. The person wanders, initiating actions without prior thought. In the insanity produced by Vata, there is emaciation of the body;
अस्थाने रोदनाक्रोशहसितस्मितनर्तनम् । गीतवादित्रवागङ्गविक्षेपास्फोटनानि च ॥ ७ ॥
weeping, anger, laughing, smiling, dancing, singing, producing musical sounds, speaking, tossing of limbs, and clapping/slapping occur at inappropriate times and places.
असाम्ना वेणुवीणादिशब्दानुकरणं मुहुः । आस्यात्फेनागमोऽजस्रमटनं बहुभाषिता ॥ ८ ॥
The person frequently mimics the sounds of instruments like the flute and lute (veena) out of tune; froth constantly escapes from the mouth, and there is continuous wandering and excessive talkativeness.
अलङ्कारोऽनलङ्कारैरयानैर्गमनोद्यमः । गृद्धिरभ्यवहार्येषु तल्लाभे चावमानता ॥ ९ ॥
The person decorates themselves with non-ornamental items, attempts to travel on things that are not vehicles, has a strong craving for food but shows disregard or abuses it once obtained,
has protruding and reddish eyes, and experiences an onset/aggravation of the disease when the food is digested. In the insanity caused by Pitta, there is threatening of others, anger, and attacking others with fists, stones, and similar objects;
