पुरे प्राप्योपकरणे हर्म्यनिर्वातनिर्भये । दिश्युदीच्यां शुभे देशे त्रिगर्भां सूक्ष्मलोचनाम् ॥ ६ ॥
In a city, in an auspicious place towards the northern direction (or northern side of the city) where necessary articles/supplies are easily available, a mansion (harmya) free from draft/strong breeze and danger should be built. It should have three concentric chambers/apartments (trigarbhā) and small openings/windows (sūkṣmalocanām);

धूमातपरजोव्यालस्त्रीमूर्खाद्यविलङ्घिताम् । सज्जवैद्योपकरणां सुमृष्टां कारयेत्कुटीम् ॥ ७ ॥
unreached/unbothered by smoke, harsh sunlight, dust, wild animals, women, fools, and other disturbances. Such a cottage (kuṭī) should be kept well-cleaned and fully equipped with ready medical supplies and physician's requisites.

अथ पुण्येऽह्नि सम्पूज्य पूज्यांस्तां प्रविशेच्छुचिः । तत्र संशोधनैः शुद्धः सुखी जातबलः पुनः ॥ ८ ॥
Next, on an auspicious day, after worshipping those who are to be worshipped; he should enter that house (specially built), clean (in body and mind). By purificatory therapies (emesis and purgation), he should get purified and become comfortable (free from diseases) there and obtain his earlier strength.

ब्रह्मचारी धृतियुतः श्रद्दधानो जितेन्द्रियः । दानशीलदयासत्यव्रतधर्मपरायणः ॥ ९ ॥
He should lead a life of celibacy, courage, faithfulness, controlling the senses, granting gifts, compassion, truthfulness and righteous activities;

देवतानुस्मृतौ युक्तो युक्तस्वप्नप्रजागरः । प्रियौषधः पेशलवागारभेत रसायनम् ॥ १० ॥
always thinking of divine beings, sleeping and keeping awake in proper manner; be fond/desirous of medicine and speaking pleasant words such a person should then start consuming medicines for rasayana.
