स्रोतोद्वारमसिद्धौ तु विद्वान् शस्त्रेण पाटयेत् । सेवनीं वर्जयन् युञ्ज्यात्सद्यःक्षतविधिं ततः ॥ १९ ॥

If by this method the passage does not get formed (dilated), then the physician should make the opening with the knife, avoiding the site of the Sevani (raphae) and then adopt the treatment of fresh wounds.

srotodvAramasiddhau tu vidvAn zastreNa pATayet । sevanIM varjayan yuJjyAtsadyaHkSatavidhiM tataH ॥ 19 ॥
