Astanga Hrudaya
मधुव्योषसैन्धवप्रतिसारितम् । उष्णेन सर्पिषा सिक्तमभ्यक्तं मधुसर्पिषा ॥ २० ॥
After the cutting has been done properly, the eye should be smeared with honey, Vyosa – Black pepper – Piper nigrum, long pepper fruit – Piper longum and Ginger – Zingiber officinale and rock salt. Next, warm ghee is put in, then the eye is anointed with honey and ghee mixed together
