कर्णेऽम्बुपूर्णे हस्तेन मथित्वा तैलवारिणी। क्षिपेदधोमुख़ं कर्णं हन्याद्वाऽऽचूषयेत वा॥४१॥
Removal of water which has entered the ears: If the ears are full of water, it should be removed by putting the oil removers churned with hands of the physician, into the ears (of the patient) or the ears should be kept facing downwards and the head should be given a blow from the side or the water can be sucked out with the help of tubular instruments.

कीटे स्रोतोगते कर्णं पूरयेल्लवणाम्बुना। सुक्तेन वा सुख़ोष्णेन मृते क्लेदहरो विधिः॥४२॥
Removal of insects which have entered the ears If any insect has entered into the passage of the ear, the ears should be filled with warm salt water or sour gruel, when the insect is dead, dehydration measures (measures to remove the fluid) should be adopted.

जातुषं हेमरूप्यादिधातुजं च चिरस्थितम्। ऊष्मणा प्रायशः शल्यं देहजेन विलीयते॥४३॥
Melting of certain shalyas by the body heat Foreign bodies like lac, and metals like gold, silver etc. remaining for long time inside the body probably get dissolved due to the heat of the body.

मृद्वेणुदारुशृङ्गास्थिदन्तवालोपलानि न। विषाणवेण्वयस्तालदारुशल्यं चिरादपि॥४४॥
Shalyas which do not melt in the body and its effect प्रायो निर्भुज्यते तद्धि पचत्याशु पलासृजी । The foreign bodies of the likes of mud, bamboo, wood, horn, bone, tooth and hairs of animals or man, stone etc. do not get dissolved by the heat of the body. Those composed of horn, bamboo, iron, wood of palm tree remaining inside the body for longer time duration,

प्ऱयो निर्भुज्यते तद्धि पचत्याशु पलासृजी। शल्ये मांसावगाढे चेत्स देशो न विदह्यते॥४५॥
usually get distorted, remain undissolved and quickly produce putrefaction in the muscles and blood. : If the foreign body is concealed deep inside the fleshy parts, and if the site having the foreign body has not undergone suppuration (the foreign body being in place, not causing suppuration).
