Astanga Hrudaya
आर्द्रसन्तानता त्यागः कायवाक्चेतसां दमः । स्वार्थबुद्धिः परार्थेषु पर्याप्तमिति सद्व्रतम् ॥४६॥
Morality - Sutra - Being kind to all creatures, giving charity, controlling the body, mind and speech, i.e. not leaving them free, and being selfish towards others (considering them like yourself) is considered complete morality in the form of a sutra.
english translation
सदाचार - सूत्र - सभी प्राणियों पर दयालु होना, दान देना, शरीर, मन तथा वाणी पर नियन्त्रण रखना अर्थात् इन्हें स्वतन्त्र न छोड़ना तथा दूसरों के अर्थों में स्वार्थबुद्धि रखना (उन्हें भी अपने ही जैसा समझना) यह सूत्र रूप में पूर्ण सदाचार माना गया है ।
