कालार्थकर्मणां योगो हीनमिथ्यातिमात्रकः । सम्यग्योगश्च विज्ञेयो रोगारोग्यैककारणम् ॥19॥

The present verse represents an exposition of causative factors responsible for the production of all most all diseases pertaining to the body and mind. The 3-fold causes are: Insufficient utilisiation (hina yoga), Wrong utilisation (mithya yoga) and Excessive utilisation (atiyoga) of time (kāla), objects of the sense organs (indriyärthas) and the activities of the body, mind and speech (karma),Where as the proper utilisation (samyak yoga) of the above factors results in healthy state.

प्रस्तुत श्लोक शरीर और मन से संबंधित सभी रोगों के उत्पादन के लिए जिम्मेदार कारकों की व्याख्या का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। तीन गुना कारण हैं: अपर्याप्त उपयोग (हिना योग), गलत उपयोग (मिथ्या योग) और अत्यधिक उपयोग (अतियोग) समय (काल), इंद्रियों की वस्तुएं (इंद्रियार्थ) और शरीर, मन और वाणी (कर्म) की गतिविधियां, जबकि उपरोक्त कारकों के उचित उपयोग (सम्यक योग) के परिणामस्वरूप स्वस्थ अवस्था प्राप्त होती है।
