Abhighata is injury caused by acts such as cutting, splitting (by weapons), burning by fire and also due to exertion. In this, usually Pavana (Vata), vitiates Rakta (blood), gives rise to fever accompanied with painful, discolored swelling (at the site of injury) and constant dull pain.
