अस्थिभेदाग्निसदनतमकारोचकैर्युतः । करोति सर्वमङ्गं च दीप्ताङ्गारावकीर्णवत् ॥ ५१ ॥
.along with a splitting pain in the bones, weak digestion, a feeling of entering darkness/blindness (tamaka), and a loss of taste/appetite. It makes the entire body feel as though it is being showered with burning, glowing coals.

यं यं देशं विसर्पश्च विसर्पति भवेत्स सः । शान्ताङ्गारासितो नीलो रक्तो वाशु च चीयते ॥ ५२ ॥
Every area to which the herpes spreads becomes black like an extinguished charcoal, blue, or red in color, and grows rapidly.

अग्निदग्ध इव स्फोटैः शीघ्रगत्वाद्द्रुतं च सः । मर्मानुसारी वीसर्पः स्याद्वातोऽतिबलस्ततः ॥ ५३ ॥
Blister eruptions develop in those parts, looking exactly as though burnt by fire, and it spreads rapidly due to the powerful influence of Vata Dosha. This visarpa invades the vital organs (marmas) .

व्यथेताङ्गं हरेत्सञ्ज्ञां निद्रां च श्वासमीरयेत् । हिध्मां च स गतोऽवस्थामीदृशीं लभते न ना ॥ ५४ ॥
.causing severe pain in those parts, leading to a loss of consciousness and sleep, and producing dyspnea (breathlessness) and hiccups. Having reached this severe stage, the person does not find even a little comfort .

क्वचिच्छर्मारतिग्रस्तो भूमिशय्यासनादिषु । चेष्टमानस्ततः क्लिष्टो मनोदेहश्रमोद्भवाम् ॥ ५५ ॥
