रूक्षा वेणुयवा ज्ञेया वीर्योष्णा कटुपाकिनः | बद्धमूत्राः कफहराः कषाया वातकोपनाः ||२६||

"Rūkṣa (dry) Veṇuyavā is to be known; it is hot in potency, with a bitter taste, and it causes binding of urine. It alleviates Kapha and is astringent, causing Vāta aggravation."

"The various types of pulses include Mudga, Mung (Green gram), Kala (Black gram), Kushta (a type of pulse), Masura (Red lentil), Mangalya (a variety of pulse), Chanaka (Chickpea), Satina (a type of lentil), Triputaka (a type of pulse), and Harenva (a type of pulse). These pulses are collectively known as Vaidala pulses."

"Among them, the lentils that are not excessively drying or wind-inducing are those that have a beneficial effect on vision. The principal ones are the green (harita) lentils, which are considered superior and similar to mudga (mung beans)."
