ज्योत्स्नादर्शोष्णतोयेषु छायां यश्च न पश्यति । पश्यत्येकाङ्गहीनां वा विकृतां वाऽन्यसत्त्वजाम् ॥२१॥

The person who cannot see shadows in the moonlight, warmth, or water, or who sees an incomplete or distorted image of any entity, should be considered as having an unfavorable prognosis.

english translation

जो व्यक्ति चाँदनी, गर्मी, या पानी में छायाएँ नहीं देख पाता, या जो किसी भी वस्तु का अपूर्ण या विकृत रूप देखता है, उसे प्रतिकूल भविष्यवाणी वाला माना जाता है।

श्वकाककङ्कगृध्राणां प्रेतानां यक्षरक्षसाम् । पिशाचोरगनागानां भूतानां विकृतामपि ॥२२॥

The person who sees distorted images of dogs, jackals, crows, vultures, ghosts, Yakshas, Rakshasas, Pishachas, or Nagas, should be considered as having an unfavorable prognosis.

जो व्यक्ति कुत्ते, गीदड़, कौवे, गिद्ध, भूत, यक्ष, राक्षस, पिशाच या नागों के विकृत चित्र देखता है, उसे प्रतिकूल भविष्यवाणी वाला माना जाता है।

यो वा मयूरकण्ठाभं विधूमं वह्निमीक्षते । आतुरस्य भवेन्मृत्युः स्वस्थो व्याधिमवाप्नुयात् ॥२३॥

The person who perceives a flame as resembling a peacock's throat or a smoky fire, and who interprets such visions, should be considered as nearing death if he is ill, or afflicted by disease if he is in good health.

english translation

जो व्यक्ति एक ज्वाला को मोर के गले के समान या धुएँ वाली आग के रूप में देखता है, और ऐसा दृश्य अनुभव करता है, उसे यदि वह बीमार है तो मृत्यु के कगार पर माना जाता है, और यदि स्वस्थ है तो उसे बीमारी से पीड़ित माना जाता है।
