Now, we will discuss the secretions from different types of ulcers located in various body parts. Skin (Tvak): In ulcers located on the skin, if there is an incision or a wound, the secretion is watery and may have a yellowish tint. For ulcers that have been cut or lacerated, the secretion is thick, white, and sticky, resembling clarified butter (ghee). Blood vessels may bleed copiously, and the secretion can be like water flowing from a hydrant. Flesh (Mamsa): In ulcers involving the flesh, the secretion is thick, dense, and white, resembling clarified butter. The secretion may also be slimy and thick. Veins (Sira): For ulcers affecting veins, there may be a copious flow of blood. The secretion is thin, resembling water, and may contain a large amount of pus. Ligaments (Snayu): In ulcers affecting ligaments, the secretion is thick and cold, similar to mucus, sometimes with streaks of blood. Bones (Asthi): Ulcers in bones appear as if the internal marrow has been lost, and the bone may look dull or washed out. The secretion is cold, with blood streaks and lumps of marrow. Joints (Sandhi): Ulcers affecting joints do not exude secretion under pressure but may produce a slimy, frothy, blood-streaked pus when the affected part is moved or flexed. Abdomen (Koshtha): Ulcers in the abdominal cavity exude secretions mixed with urine, fecal matter, pus, or blood, and may be thin or watery. Vital Parts (Marma): Ulcers affecting vital parts involve the principles of skin, flesh, etc., and their secretions are characteristic of the affected principles. Types of Secretions Based on Doshas: Vata (Marut): Secretions may be rough, black, gray, or white, resembling the washings of meat or rice husks. Pitta: Secretions may have colors like yellow agate, cow urine, or burnt conch-shell ash. They may also have a fishy smell. Kapha: Secretions may be creamy, like rice paste, or resemble the juice of a coconut or hog's lard. Sannipata (Combination of Doshas): Secretions may have various colors and consistencies, similar to a mixture of all the doshas' characteristics.
