सर्वव्याधिष्वृतुषु च पिच्छिलमन्नं भुक्तवतः; मूढगर्भाश्मरीभगन्दरोदरार्शोमुखरोगेष्वभुक्तवतः कर्म कुर्वीत ॥६॥

For all diseases, thermal therapy should be administered if the patient has consumed viscous food. It should also be performed in cases of diseases such as indigestion, tuberculosis, elephantiasis, and leprosy.

तत्र द्विविधमग्निकर्माहुरेके- त्वग्दग्धं, मांसदग्धं च; इह तु सिरास्नायुसन्ध्यस्थिष्वपि न प्रतिषिद्धोऽग्निः ॥७॥

There are two types of thermal therapy: one for burning the skin (त्वग्दग्धं) and the other for burning the flesh (मांसदग्धं). In these cases, the use of heat is not prohibited for those with issues in veins, nerves, and joints.

तत्र, शब्दप्रादुर्भावो दुर्गन्धता त्वक्सङ्कोचश्च त्वग्दग्धे, कपोतवर्णताऽल्पश्वयथुवेदना शुष्कसङ्कुचितव्रणता च मांसदग्धे; कृष्णोन्नतव्रणता स्रावसन्निरोधश्च सिरास्नायुदग्धे, रूक्षारुणता कर्कशस्थिरव्रणता च सन्ध्यस्थिदग्धे ॥८॥

In thermal therapy: For skin burns (त्वग्दग्धं): Symptoms include presence of sound, bad odor, skin roughness, and swelling. For flesh burns (मांसदग्धं): Symptoms include pigeon-colored skin, mild pain, and dry, contracted wounds. For vein, nerve, and joint burns (सिरास्नायुसन्धिधग्धे): Symptoms include blackened, elevated wounds with discharge and inhibited secretion. For joint area burns (सन्ध्यस्थिदग्धे): Symptoms include rough, red, rigid, and persistent wounds.

तत्र शिरोरोगाधिमन्थयोर्भ्रूललाटशङ्खप्रदेशेषु दहेत्, वर्त्मरोगेष्वार्द्रालक्तकप्रतिच्छन्नां दृष्टिं कृत्वा वर्त्मरोमकूपान् ॥९॥

In the case of head diseases (e.g., headaches) or chronic ailments: Apply heat to the areas of the forehead, temples, and crown. For diseases affecting the passages (e.g., infections or inflammations), use a moist and protective covering over the affected area.

त्वङ्मांससिरास्नायुसन्ध्यस्थिस्थितेऽत्युग्ररुजि वायावुच्छ्रितकठिनसुप्तमांसे व्रणे ग्रन्थ्यर्शोऽर्बुदभगन्दरापचीश्लीपदचर्मकीलतिलकालकान्त्रवृद्धिसन्धिसिराच्छेदनादिषु नाडीशोणितातिप्रवृत्तिषु चाग्निकर्म कुर्यात् ॥१०॥

For severe pain in the skin, muscle, nerves, and joints, and in conditions such as: Ulcers, tumors, fistulas, hemorrhoids, and other similar ailments, especially when associated with: Intense pain, hardened, or stiff muscles, Nerve or joint issues, Abnormal bleeding or excessive blood flow, Perform Agni Karma (cauterization).
